Member participation

In its report following the 2026 regular legislative session, FHBA stated that 200 members traveled to Tallahassee to meet legislators or testify on a bill. This is a reported participation figure, not a count of homes built or projects completed.

Issues addressed

The report highlighted permitting and inspections, septic permitting, impact fees, stormwater treatment, and contractor qualifications. These subjects reflect the practical regulatory conditions facing building businesses.

Work across the session

FHBA described engagement by its advocacy team, members, and Governmental Affairs Committee with lawmakers and other stakeholders.

Reading the results responsibly

The report described several measures at the legislative-passage stage, before final gubernatorial action. This page records the association’s reported work; it does not state that those measures are current law or provide project-specific legal advice.
